 Mission The purpose of the Kommah Seray Inflammatory Breast Cancer Foundation is to raise awareness of Inflammatory Breast Cancer. The foundation will meet the immediate needs of active cancer patients by providing assistance and support. Additionally, the foundation will work toward educating medical professionals and the community at large on how to detect Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Objective I: Educate communities about cancer; especially IBC since it is an aggressive cancer. Objective II: To provide support groups for patients, caregivers, family, and friends battling IBC as a means for defusing confusion and the unknown. Objective III: To provide financial assistance for patients and their families as they endure the expenses of battling cancer. Vision To help breast cancer patients in need and to reduce the mortality rate of IBC through education. Board of Directors Our people are among the most talented in the industry. Terri Whiting, P.A.
Chairperson of the Board
Terri graduated from Stanford University Primary Care Associate Program (PCAP) and is currently a Physician Assistant at the Monterey County Jail where she provides high quality health care for both adults and juveniles in correctional facilities. She is also experienced in Urgent Care, Women's Heath, Hospitalist and Aesthetic Medicine and is a member of California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA). She is the class President of the San Diego Division of Stanford University PCAP. She designs custom made swim suits for women who have had mastectomies and she owned and operated a comfortable and affordable women's healthcare facility for women of low income. Terri is also experienced in permanent cosmetics and will soon be providing Areola / Nipple Repigmentation and other Scar Repigmentation. She has published the following articles: Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Are You Blushing or is That Rosacia, and The S.E.X Word.

Eleanor Monroe, PT, MPA
Co-Chairperson of the Board
Eleanor M. Monroe is a Licensed Physical Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Pepperdine University. She is currently the Director of Rehab Services for Kaiser Permanente in Orange County, Director of the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Regional PT/OT/SP, Director of the Southern California Hand Therapy Fellowship Program, credentialed by the American Physical Therapy Association, Administrative Director for the Orange County Kaiser Permanente Sports Medicine Fellowship program, Administrative liaison for the Regional Home Health Rehab Coordinators, Board member of the Orange County ROP sports medicine division, Sunday School teacher for Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Member of the Faith Ministry, Board member for the Council of African American Parents and Historian, Member of the Parent Advisory Committee at Diamond Bar High School, and Legacy member of Jack and Jill, Inc., Pomona Chapter.

Angela C. Urrutia

Angela graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s of Arts in science. She then began a career in the insurance industry as a Technical Assistant. After 21 years of working as an Underwriter, in 1999 she founded SIU, LLC of which she is currently the Executive Vice President. She is also the Director of the Young Adult Sunday School Department at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church.

Tayja Mashack
Treasurer of the Board
Tayja Mashack is an active member of the board. As the CEO of Mashack & Pauley, Inc., she lends her leadership and administrative skills to help develop the infrastructure of the foundation. Tayja also has eight years of experience working in the banking and financial sector that she is able to lend to the foundation.

Susan Nyanzi, DrPH, CHES
Dr Nyanzi, a Chronic Disease Specialist provides integrated lifestyle counseling in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, stress, addictive behaviors for the prevention & treatment of chronic degenerative diseases. She has counseled patients developed, implemented & evaluated interventions on lifestyle modification at: a Diabetes Treatment Center, a veterans preventive medicine department & a private practice rheumatology clinic. She has developed & implemented curriculums on preconception care for March of Dimes Inland Empire chapter; a speaker’s bureau on women’s health issues, was the lead on a web-based heart health risk assessment for women in LA county & a childhood obesity program for Pediatricians in private practice which was presented at the LA Childhood Obesity Conference 2007

Charles McDowell
Charles McDowell is the Treasurer of the Kommah Seray Inflammatory Breast Cancer Foundation. He has received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Redlands in Business and Management. As the husband of a survivor of inflammatory breast cancer, he lends his financial expertise to KSIBCF as a way of helping others battling cancer. In addition to volunteering his time to help establish the foundation, he is also a Training Manager at AT&T.

Kommah Seray McDowell, MSLM
Founder/Executive Director
Kommah McDowell is a survivor of Inflammatory Breast Cancer and the Founder and Executive Director of the Kommah Seray Inflammatory Breast Cancer Foundation. She received her Bachelor of Art for the University of California, Davis in English and a Master of Science in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne. As a survivor, she helps provide resources and financial assistance to active cancer patients through KSIBCF and partnering organizations. She is a member of several community organizations in hopes to help provide better access to care and resources for those in need. She is truly passionate about her mission in life and strives to do what she can, while she can.

Vanci Fuller-Grays, Esq.
Vanci Fuller is the resident partner in McCurdy & Fuller LLP's Southern California office. She has extensive experience in insurance coverage matters. Vanci obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Redlands with a double major in religious studies and political science. She received her J.D. from Pepperdine University in 1994.
Vanci is a member of the State Bar of California.
